The Shooting Box : Sleeps 9 + 3
The Shooting Box is built close to the site described by Thomas Hardy in his short story The Three Strangers (Wessex Tales), and is built partly of materials from the original building imagined by Hardy. The Lodge has spectacular views, and stands in a small coppice containing wild fruits and flowers. Access is via one mile of rough track - perfectly passable by normal car if taken steady, set in the heart of the Estate. The Shooting Box
The Admirals Well There are 5 bedrooms (a double, three twins and a single ), bathroom, shower-room, cloakroom, fully fitted kitchen, and plenty of sitting and dining space. Outside there are bar-b-que areas, and tables with views of the Frome valley. Two extra beds can be provided should it be required.

There is no mains electricity or telephone, but fuel for the wall lamps and heating is calor gas and logs for the huge open fires, many candles, plus a generator for electricity if needed.

The Lodge can be rented in conjunction with beats on the Wrackleford Fishery of the River Frome, and Sydling Brook.
